The days are long but the years are short. These were the words that inspired Shannon Harrison to start her 10 on 10 project, and they couldn’t be more true as I sit here with 1 day to go before my girls start 4th and 7th grades. Where did the years go? This is exactly the reason that I took 3 weeks off of work this summer to spend with them…exploring the East Coast and hopefully making memories that will last for years to come. The original intent of our project 10 was to document a typical day in the life of our families…a diary of sorts. Well, sadly, right now a typical day would be me, sitting in front of the computer all day for work and the girls either watching TV or getting yelled at to do some chores. So, maybe in the future, I will document a typical day but for the inaugural project 10, I have decided to share a typical day on vacation this summer. This particular day was spent on the Maine Coast. It was a long day but a day filled with new experiences, a great surprise (can you guess which picture?), some great photo ops, and a peaceful ending. Wouldn’t it be great if everyday could be like this?
I am joining with 9 other photographers to document our days and share them with you in hopes of reminding us all to cherish this time we have together. Next up is Val Spring of the wonderful Red Balloon Photography…she is the whole reason I am in this amazing circle of photographers and I am sure you will be blown away by her talent.
A Day on the Maine Coast
Back at camp for a dip in the lake…aaah!
